The final photograph for September. A small pot of roses that my mother gave me when she came to visit last weekend. She's the only one who ever gives me flowers. Someday, I'll have a man who gives me pretty flowers ;) I love roses. So long as they're not red.

This is one of my new favorite places in the world. The Stately Raven bookstore in Findlay, Ohio. It used to be a church. A teeny tiny adorable little church. There's a loft upstairs with big comfy couches and a fireplace down the steps in that green room. It's wonderful. It has a perfect, wonderful, warm feel to it.

I have to admit, today was not the greatest of days for this blog, already. Two things were hampering my creativity, by my own fault. First of all...It's September 11th. I felt mildly obligated to do something related to that. Some sort of tribute. Second...the prompt for this week, which is "familiarity", is a serious challenge for me, since I'm at school in a town that is, honestly, not all that familiar to me.

It's going to take some time for me to find a new way to define "familiar" so that I can twist it to my advantage.

Anyway...The photo for the day...

Yesterday, I took a walk and saw a house with its address nailed onto it, all the numbers even but one, dropped down below the others. A flower pot made of an old, orange Coleman cooler. A mailbox with a broken rocking horse propped beside it.
